For centuries, noni has been esteemed as a healing agent for countless ailments. It has been used both internally and externally to treat everything from broken bones to cancer. Today, noni users around the world swear by its medicinal benefits and ingest it much like a vitamin or dietary supplement. Noni users claim relief from an enormous range of ailments including arthritis, asthma, fever, tuberculosis, high blood pressure, urinary and gastrointestinal tract problems, broken bones, and even head lice. Currently, studies are being conducted to determine the anti-cancer effects of noni on the human body.
Noni is a small, white, tropical fruit, native to Southeast Asia but also cultivated in India and the Pacific islands. Known for its distinctive smell, it is sometimes called “cheese fruit.” In spite of its pungent aroma, noni is usually pressed and used to make a sweet, sugary drink.
